Canoeing - January 2004

1st Atherton's Impeesa Explorer Scout unit joined up with Westhoughton Canoe Club during 2003-04. This started with a few trips out with the Canoe Club in the Summer and Autumn of 2003. During the winter canoeing was practiced indoors in the swimming pool (nice and warm!) but January saw the first trip out of 2004.

The venue was the River Lune near Preston where some of the Explorers braved the elements with the Canoe Club on the river. The paddling was challenging but very enjoyable.
