Summer Camp 2005, Isle of Man

The 1st Atherton 2005 Summer Camp was held at the Venture Centre on the Isle of Man.

This was attended by members from the Scout and Explorer Scout sections with leaders and a few guests from the County. It's the fourth time that the group has been to the Venture Centre.

A typical day at the Venture Centre consists of breakfast followed by a morning activity, lunch followed by an afternoon activity, tea, an evening activity then a game of pool to finish off the evening.

Activities included Assault Course; Coastal Walk; Canadian Canoeing; Kayaking; Archery; Air Rifles; Coasteering; Gorge Walking; Sailing; Wide Game; Team Challenges; Backwoods Cooking (on the beach); etc.

Many of us got our BCU 1 star or 2 star kayaking awards, doing both the training and assessment during the week.
