The Explorer Scout section covers the ages 14 to 18. Click for the Explorer Badges and Awards page. Our unit has taken its name from
the nickname given to Baden-Powell by the African Matabele tribe.
Impeesa is 'the wolf that never sleeps' or 'the beast that
does not sleep, but walks in the night'. In fact there are no wolves
in Africa - the translation should probably be hyena rather than wolf Impeesa ESU is a group based unit, an integral part of the 1st Atherton Scout Group. We specialise in adventurous outdoor activities. Our ESL is one of the Greater Manchester West Champions of Expertise for Climbing and the groups GSL is one of the Champions of Expertise for Mountain Walking.
